Health Engagement Halton

HBC Healthy Lifestyles Meeting Board  - The board is a multidisciplinary team that includes the council, Halton CCG, Public Health and the Voluntary SectorThe main aims of the group are to share information, develop policy and look for opportunities for cross working.  The board is aligned to the priorities of the Health & Wellbeing Board, the JSNA and the CCG 5 year plans.  Recent topics for discussion have included smoking cessation, legal highs, alcohol harm, child weight management and many others. 

One Halton Advisory Board – One Halton is a shared philosophy that has been spearheaded by Halton CCG, it aims to build a culture where organisations of all sectors can work together for the benefit of Halton’s population.  The Advisory Board is part of One Halton’s governance structure and is made of Voluntary/Community Sector reps.  The board is chaired by VCA CEO Sally Yeoman.

Halton CCG Consultation Steering Group - The steering group acts as a local scrutiny/insight group.  It is set up to ensure adequate consultation takes place if/when the CCG changes its services.  Our lead Health Engagement worker acts as the voluntary sector rep and has been able to advise the CCG on a number of VCSE organisations that can help them consult with particular cohorts.

Halton CCG Prime Ministers Challenge Fund Steering Group – In 2015 Halton CCG was awarded £1.6 million to help alleviate pressure on GPs and Emergency Care. 

Public Health Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy Group – The group looks to help the people of Halton ‘Have a healthy relationship with alcohol’.  There are lots of aspects of this work that involve VCSE groups, Our lead Health Engagement worker acts as our representative.

CCG Halton People’s Health Forum Steering Group – Our lead Health Engagement worker is the VCSE rep on this group that aims to inform, involve and communicate with the people of Halton in regards to the CCG’s provision.  The forum runs 8 events per year, each of which feature VCSE provision too.

Well North Steering Group – Well North is a new initiative that will be looking to improve the health of the poorest fastest.  Projects are about to commence in Windmill Hill, Halton Brook and the Halton Stadium. 

CCG STP Generally Well Group – As part of the One Halton process and in alignment with the CCG’s forward plans the generally well group will look at how community activity, prevention and lifestyle choices can help to help our well population to stay well.  

CCG STP Long Term Conditions - As part of the One Halton process and in alignment with the CCG’s forward plans the Long Term Conditions Group will look at how people with LTC can get the best treatment across primary, secondary and social/community care.
