Parliamentary Committee Call for Evidence - Coronavirus and Protected Characteristics

It was highlighted by one of the Equality and Diversity leads from another force earlier regarding the impact of Coronavirus in relation to protected characteristics:

https://committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evidence/94/unequal-impact-coronavirus-covid19-and-the-impact-on-people-with-protected-characteristics/

NB. The information states: “We would like to hear from you by 30 April 2020. If you cannot get it to us before then, please don’t worry, as it will still be useful to us if you submit it later. The sooner you can get it to us, the more likely the Committee can use it to press the Government to reconsider the current measures at the three-week review”.

Leading Mental Health Charities Unite To Bring Round The Clock Support To Our Frontline

Leading mental health charities are uniting for the first time to provide round the clock mental health support to those working on the frontline against the Coronavirus. Mind, Samaritans, Shout, Hospice UK and The Royal Foundation have launched "Our Frontline", a combination of 1-2-1 support and online resources for NHS workers, carers, the Blue Light emergency services and key workers who are putting their mental health under pressure, while many of us do our bit by staying at home.

iCAN Warning: Rogue Traders Cold Calling In Halton

Halton Trading wants to make residents aware of cold calling workmen who are operating in the area. Residents should be wary of any trader’s cold calling at their door or making unsolicited phone calls.

Under the current lockdown measures, it is perfectly acceptable not to answer the door to cold callers who are after work. Protect yourself and your families from the Coronavirus.

If you need urgent repair work to be carried out (i.e. boiler breakdown etc.) then contact a reputable trader, for clarity reputable traders are not cold calling people during the lockdown!

Getting traders to do work in your home which is not urgent and which can wait (such as decorating etc) is not acceptable, reputable traders know this.

Click here for the latest iCAN Information on ordering groceries over the phone and online during the lockdown.

If you or somebody you know has been caught out by a scam or fraud please contact one of the specialist officers, Linda or Sue on 0151 511 8785 or 0151 511 8775, who are already working with people in Halton who have lost thousands of pounds to scams.

We Want To Hear From You - Coronavirus (COVID-19): How Has Your Group, Organisation Or Service Responded?

We are asking that if you are delivering services and interventions in direct response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic then we would welcome you to share your data on a weekly basis so we can bring it all together to demonstrate the work of the sector to our local partners and decision makers.

For organisations which choose to contribute we will also provide you each week with your own infographic which you can share with your beneficiaries, volunteers and funders.  This survey is made up of tick-box questions, and the occasional free text question. The survey should take 10 minutes to complete each week.
