ACAS - Coronavirus webinar recording

ACAS have published a recording of the webinar: Coronavirus – an advisory webinar for employers 
which they hosted yesterday (31st March). 

The webinar covered:

  • steps that can help reduce the spread of the virus
  • effective ways of communicating with employees
  • self-isolating, time off, sickness certification and sick pay
  • altering working hours, shift patterns and working arrangements
  • remote working and the use of technology

Temporary changes to right to rent and right to work checks
Right to rent and right to work checks have been adapted to make it easier for landlords and employers to carry them out during the coronavirus outbreak, the Home Secretary announced today (Monday 30 March). Landlords and employers are not required to see original documents during coronavirus outbreak.
Voucher scheme launches for schools providing free school meals
Children eligible for free school meals will benefit from a national voucher scheme allowing them to continue to access meals whilst they stay at home.

Schools can now provide every eligible child with a weekly shopping voucher worth £15 to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed due to coronavirus.
