Windows 10 End of Life: What It Means for Your Organisation

What’s happening?
Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will reach its End of Life on 14 October 2025. This means it will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or technical support.

Why does it matter?
If your organisation is still using Windows 10 after this date, your devices could become vulnerable to cyber threats. This puts your data, your staff, and the people you support at risk.

It’s not just Windows 10
The End of Life also affects some older Microsoft software that relies on Windows 10 to run. This includes certain versions of Microsoft Office, security tools, and other applications that may no longer be supported or safe to use. It’s important to review all the software your organisation uses to check for compatibility and support.

New Report Calls For Urgent Action On Child Poverty In Liverpool City Region

A new report released by the VS6 Partnership, in collaboration with CHAMPS Public Health Collaborative and Youth Focus, highlights the urgent need for coordinated action to tackle child poverty across the Liverpool City Region.

The report, titled “Tackling Child Poverty in Liverpool City Region,” draws on insights from a cross-sector event held which sought to bring together voices from the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector to identify local and regional solutions to tackle child poverty.

Key findings reveal that families across the region are facing increasing financial strain, barriers to employment and childcare, and a lack of accessible, joined-up support. The report also highlights the damaging impact of stigma and the need for services to be co-designed with those who use them.

Third Sector Trends in North West England

After another long period of ups and downs and twists and turns in the voluntary sector, Third Sector Trends is back to find out what’s going on. We’d really like you to take part so that we can build a better picture of what is happening in Halton and St Helens.

Many of you will have helped with this research before and if you’re a new organisation, Durham University are just as keen to see what you do, how things are going and what you’re achieving.
Whether you’re big or small - thriving, struggling or just going along as normal – they need to hear from you. It’s quick and easy to do on your PC, laptop, tablet or phone. It’s interesting too and really helps to build a picture about how the voluntary sector responds to and initiates change in society.

So if you’re an amateur sports, dance or gardening club, a village hall, a carers’ group, an arts organisation, a campaigning trust; or if you deliver social or health services, care for the environment or run a hostel or food bank – whatever you do, it’s all equally important.
