Halton and St Helens VCA Funders Festival

Halton Connected would love you to attend our Funders Festival. Drop in between 11am and 3pm, or spend the day with us. 

The festival will help you learn about how to access funding and resources that will support you to grow and sustain your organisation. The event will include workshops, a market place, networking opportunities, and a peer support café.

Join the Liverpool City Region Mayor Rotheram, and a variety funders who have already confirmed their attendance including.

Date: Wednesday the 18th September 2024

Drop in time between: 11 am - 3 pm

Beyond Innovation Event: Housing and Homelessness in Liverpool City Region

VS6 would like you to join them to start a conversation about housing and homelessness in the Liverpool City Region. They want to explore the role of the local VCFSE sector in future models of delivery and hear from you to enable them to contribute effectively to policy and plans for the LCR going forward. Justin Hill, Chief Executive of YMCA St Helens will co-host the session.

There will be an opportunity for interaction and sharing your insights into the future of housing and homelessness strategy and services.

St Helens Christmas Gift Appeal 2024

St Helens Council are asking kind-hearted residents, businesses and organisations to come together to help make Christmas 2024 extra special for some of the borough's most disadvantaged children and young people.

Since 2010, St Helens Borough Council has run a gift appeal for children aged from birth to 21 years at risk of waking up on Christmas Day without a present. During that time, tens of thousands of items have been donated, with last year's appeal alone resulting in gifts being shared out between more than 800 children and young people - including care leavers.

The deadline for donations will be Monday 16th December.

Free Photography and Photo Editing Workshops

In this workshop you’ll learn how to use iPads to capture stunning images and transform them with basic digital editing techniques like filters, cropping, and more! This workshop is for adults aged 19+ in Halton or Merseyside who don’t have a maths GCSE at or above.

‘What Matters to me?’ Community Engagement

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are carrying out a project with patients called ‘What Matters to me?’ where they are going out to engage with patients from inclusion health groups (groups who don’t often engage with health care providers) to ask them what matters to them when accessing services.

St Helens Carnival of Creativity

St Helens Arts in Libraries is very excited to inform you about our flagship 2024 event, the Carnival of Creativity, taking place on 31st August 2024. They would be delighted if you could attend! They have a host of fabulous, creative, family-friendly events throughout the day, culminating in an evening music gig at St Helens Town Hall with Stealing Sheep and TVAM.

The Winterval Interval

You are invited to join Independent Celebrant Kirstie Atherton as she takes us through an evening of joyous reflection as we remember those who are important to us that have died.

This free event is on the 20th of December 2024. Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. All ages welcome.
You are welcome to bring a photograph of 'your person' as we will decorate our lovely venue with pictures of the people that are important to us. Please also bring your singing voice!

easyfundraising -  August Update

Did you know that the leading supermarkets will all donate money to your voluntary organisation. Charity, social enterprise or CIC when your community of supporters shop with them?

Whenever an online shopper buys groceries, the supermarket will send your organisation either a flat monetary amount (up to £5) or a percentage of what the online shopper spends. All types of third sector organisations can receive this funding.

Pure Insight 1628

Pure Insight supports young care leavers aged 16-28. It's range of outreach projects (which tackle complex social issues for those making the transition to independence) include Mentoring, Psychological Wellbeing Service/Counselling, intense support for care experienced young parents, peer support, drop in cafes and an Experts by Experience group influencing local and national service provision

Have you heard about St Helens Community Lottery – for local good causes?
 

Charities, community organisations, social business and community groups of all shapes and sizes can sign up, free of charge and get a slice of the ticket proceeds.

A generous 60% of the ticket proceeds from the St.Helens Community Lottery will go to charities, voluntary organisations and other not-for-profit groups with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.
