Having honest and timely conversations about death and dying is crucial for providing good end-of-life care. However, many barriers, such as a lack of confidence, societal taboos around discussing death, and confusion about who should initiate such conversations, can prevent patients, caregivers, and families from obtaining the necessary information and support they need. Dying Matters Week provides an opportunity to begin these essential conversation’s, and advice on how to start honest, transparent conversations to help and empower people is available on the Dying Matters website.

We encourage you to incorporate Dying Matters talking points in any groups, events, or coffee morning you are hosting on Dying Matters week, and leaflets and talking points guidance are available on request.

This training is an introduction to youth work and the role of a youth worker. The aim is to support participants to understand their role and how they can effectively engage, empower and support young people.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for those who are new to the sector or who have developed through from participants into volunteering and paid roles. It is designed as a first insight into what makes youth work a distinctive practice and the important role it can play in the lives of young people. Suitable for those just starting on their youth work journey and wishing to develop an understanding of some of the theories and ideas surrounding this practice.

Sam's Diamonds Cancer Support Charity will be hosting their annual Afternoon Tea party on Sunday 28th April, 12PM-2PM at St Maries Church, Widnes. Round up your family and friends to join in the fun and enjoy some deliciously tasty treats.

Cheshire Youth Commission have been commissioned by the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner to find out what the issues and solutions are for young people living in the county.

Their workshops are flexible and cater to each group because no one young person is the same. What makes the Youth Commission stand out is that it is peer-led, so it is made by young people for young people. They share all of the ideas and solutions back to the Police and Crime Commissioner, the chief constable and their senior team and local decision makers.

Originally conceived in 2009, the exchange emerged from a playful mix-up between two print workshops with similar names: Hot Bed Press and Red Hot Press, despite their distance of over 230 miles. What started as a lighthearted connection swiftly evolved into a grander vision to unite workshops across the UK and beyond, giving rise to the 20:20 print exchange.

This year, Hazlehurst Studios are delighted to announce that they received the exhibition from Northern Print. Hazlehurst Studios will be hosting from April 18th to June 28th. 

People at increased risk from COVID-19 in Cheshire and Merseyside are being encouraged to book in for their spring vaccine.

Eligible people include those aged 75 or over (on 30 June 2024), people with a weakened immune system and those who live in an older adult care home, who are all more likely to have severe illness if they catch the virus.

They are being urged not to wait to be invited for their top-up protection, but instead book now

People can book a vaccine appointment via the NHS website or by calling 119 for free, with parents or carers able to book a Covid-19 vaccination for children under 16 on their behalf. Eligible people aged 16 and over can also use the NHS App to book an appointment.
