Include-IT Mersey Include-IT Mersey is a digital inclusion project funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority. Taking in the whole of the Liverpool City Region, the project aims to help people get online and improve their digital skills for employability through IT courses and free digital drop-ins. We are looking for volunteer Digital Champions in St.Helens to help locals to make the most of the online world at our digital- drop-ins and IT courses.
We host a series of digital drop-ins across St.Helens and we would love to open more – but to do this we need your help! As a volunteer at our digital drop-ins, you will assist members of the public to navigate their digital devices and help them access key information and services online.
We also deliver IT Courses for those that need to boost their IT skills for employment and our volunteers are integral to helping our learners get to the next level. Our classroom volunteers will assist tutors, deal with queries and help our learners if they get stuck or need more support.
You don’t need to be an IT expert, but you do need to be digitally confident both with devices and with navigating the internet. However, what is most important is reliability, having a friendly and proactive character and are enthusiastic about the positive effect that technology can have on someone's life.
