Christmas Support at the Hope Centre's homeless drop-in shelter, Hope House Hope House, the Hope Centre's homeless drop-in shelter, is looking for support over the Christmas period Over normal working weeks they offer a breakfast and a lunch to those in need, as well as appointments with Hope House staff and other professional agencies during the afternoon. They have washing machines and showers available to service users, as well as clothing and other items that may be needed Over the Christmas period they are opening a few days and looking for volunteer support for the general smooth-running. This could include cooking a breakfast, helping prepare a Christmas dinner, showing a service user to a shower and finding them a towel, or simply making them a cup of tea for a bit of encouragement It is a busy atmosphere, however a hugely enjoyable one and very rewarding They are looking for support on the following days: - Christmas Day, 8:30 - 14:30
- Boxing Day, 8:30 - 12:30
- Thursday, 28th December, 8:30 - 12:30
- Friday, 29th December, 8:30 - 12:30
Volunteers should be able to show a bit of love and care to those who are struggling most in St Helens and willing to serve and get "stuck in", as well as confident in chatting to people from all walks of life, cheerful, versatile.
