Community Foundation have launched Evelyn Partners Merseyside Charitable Fund. The fund offers grants up to £5,000, for projects which provide a positive impact on young people’s lives by supporting educational initiatives, as well as health and wellbeing and employability projects.

Priority will be given to applicants that demonstrate how their project will make a difference to beneficiaries’ lives, e.g. if a young person gains new skills, qualifications, or experiences and how these will be applied post project, such as through guaranteed work experience/interviews etc.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Tuesday 12th December 2023

Pharmacists are experts in the use of medicines, managing minor illnesses such as coughs and colds, itchy eyes and earache and providing free and confidential health and wellbeing advice. 

With no appointment needed, local pharmacy teams offer a fast and convenient service.

RASASC Cheshire and Merseyside has secured a significant grant of £259,869 from The National Lottery Community Fund. 

The newly funded project will provide person-centred support to survivors and places a strong emphasis on recovery, healing and social inclusion. It features a comprehensive program that offers activities and groups directly related to both physical and mental health, such as walking, mindfulness, gardening and creative writing.

Children and young people based in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington up to the age of 18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis will have access to a dedicated 24/7 team for the first time.

The new crisis response team, based within Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Child and Young People’s Mental Health Service, will help those under 18 who need an emergency response and aims to provide a risk assessment within four hours.

The service is available to anyone registered with a GP in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington. Since it went live in August it has had an immediate impact, with 144 emergency referrals in its first month and 217 in September.

St Helens Adult and Community Learning have some new courses coming up for volunteers. The courses will be Mental Health Awareness, First Aid and Crafts For Community Organisations. They will also be starting a new Photography and Wellbeing course and Crafts For Wellbeing Course .
