As you may know there is a significant issue with people on pre-payment meters not redeeming the vouchers they should receive under the scheme. Data published by the government suggests that more than 52,000 vouchers worth in excess of £6.6m have gone unclaimed in the city region for October and November. These vouchers were only valid for 90 days and will need to be reissued by the relevant electricity supplier... Big Give's Mental Health Match Fund - Now Open Applications are open for Big Give's Mental Health Match Fund. All donations to participating charities will be doubled for charities improving mental health as part of their work. 78% of people say the cost of living crisis is impacting mental health – worse for those with existing mental health problems. The Mental Health Match Fund is designed specifically for charities improving mental health as part of their work. The campaign will run around Mental Health Awareness Week, from 15th- 22nd May. Applications are open until Friday, March 24th, 2023... Liverpool City Region Womens' Housing First Survey As part of a feasibility study to explore the demand and impact an intervention could have on a particular cohort, Liverpool City Region are asking stakeholders to share their thoughts and experiences. The study is being conducted by Imogen Blood & Associates, and the cohort being looked at is women with multiple and complex needs who have experienced domestic abuse and are themselves also involved in offending... The Halton Business Awards 2023 The Halton Business Awards are now open for applications! The awards are free to enter and are open to all Chamber Members and Runcorn (including Daresbury) and Widnes based businesses. With 14 different awards, covering every size and sector, there is an opportunity for everyone. The applications close on 20th March 2023... Coronation Champions Awards and Coronation Big Lunch To mark the Coronation of Their Majesties, The Coronation Champions Awards, with the support of Her Majesty The Queen Consort, will celebrate and recognise inspiring volunteers who have made an exceptional difference in their communities. Her Majesty is a passionate and long-standing advocate of volunteering and Royal Voluntary Service is organising the awards to acknowledge the contributions of volunteers across the UK. They will commend outstanding volunteers from all communities and also aim to inspire others to explore what volunteering has to offer. There will be eight categories of awards, from volunteering in health or animal welfare, to supporting the environment or sports and heritage. Anyone can nominate a volunteer they know for an award. Judges will also be on the lookout to celebrate rising stars as ‘Young Coronation Champions’ (aged 14-18). The awards opened for nominations on 20th February 2023 and will close on 2nd April... Invitation - Civic Service To Celebrate The Coronation Of The King His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mr Mark Blundell invites you, your family and friends to a civic service at Liverpool Cathedral at 10.30 am on Sunday 7th May to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. The Coronation will be a joyous event and they would be delighted to see as many members of the Charitable and Voluntary Services sector as possible. Community Development and Programme Officer The primary purpose of the role is to build relationships and networks with residents, community groups, associations, and community businesses in Beechwood, Ballantyne and Bidston Village, Wirral managing the Big Local Programme on behalf of the Big Local Partnership. Now approaching its ninth year in Beechwood, Ballantyne and Bidston Village, the initiative gives local people a chance to make a difference in their neighbourhood by raising aspiration, creating opportunities, and enriching lives. You will be responsbile for the ongoing development and delivery of the Big Local Programme ensuring it achieves its objectives including building relationship with local stakeholders, developing new community based solutions and continuously reporting progress to the Community Foundation for Merseyside and the Partnership Board... Community Ownership Fund, Round 2 DLUHC has announced the third application window of Round 2 for the Community Ownership Fund. The government is providing £150 million over four years to support community groups in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to take ownership of assets and amenities at risk of being lost. Voluntary and community groups can apply for match funding to acquire important assets and run them for the benefit of the local community. The Fund will run until 2024/25 and DLUHC intend to run 3 bidding windows each year for applicants to submit a full application to the Fund. The deadline for applications for this funding round is 14 April 2023... One Halton People and Communities Voice Meeting Halton residents will be able to shape how technology will be used to improve access to care across the borough. One Halton’s digital strategy will launch this year with the aim of making sure no residents are digitally excluded. Ahead of the launch, Halton residents are being asked for feedback on what would help them to use digital services if they were introduced. Rob Foster, Bridgewater's Programme Director for Collaboration and Integration, said: "During the pandemic, many people relied on websites and apps to stay connected, however figures show that up to one third of people across England still aren’t digitally connected. "Digital can transform how we access healthcare, especially when services are under increasing pressure, but we can’t create digital solutions that exclude people, which is why it's essential that we work closely with residents." MRWA & Veolia Community Fund 2023-2024 The MRWA & Veolia Community Fund offers support for community organisations for waste prevention community initiatives. They have a total funding pot of £165,000 for projects between £1,000 to £30,000. Funding of between £1,000 to £8,000 for projects running in one of the six districts areas. For projects delivered across the Liverpool City Region groups can apply for up to £30,000... Halton Funding and Cost of Living Bulletins - March The External Funding Team at Halton Borough Council have produced their latest monthly Funding Bulletin covering recent grants alerts. They have also produced a new Cost of Living Bulletin that lists information about funding that charities, community groups and individuals can apply for... The Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside are looking for an individual with experience in a senior HR role to join the Board to advise the organisation on all matters relating to HR using their specialist skills. They are keen to offer Board experience to individuals seeking to develop their future career aspirations individuals from diverse backgrounds who are underrepresented at Board level this includes people from BAME communities, people part of the LGBT+ community, people with a disabilities, young adults and women... Halton Domestic Abuse Development Event - 5th April 2023 The Halton Domestic Abuse Partnership Board would like to invite you to a ‘The Halton Domestic Abuse Partnership Development Event - 2023’. This event is aimed at all key stakeholders in Halton, in the morning speakers will set the national and local scene, addressing domestic abuse from various perspectives. Partner agency involvement is essential, this vital work will help to continue tackling domestic abuse and make a real difference in Halton... Don't Forget...Halton & St Helens VCA Health Inequity Survey - Closes Thursday 9th March The people of Halton and St Helens experience wide ranging health inequalities compared to other parts of the country, and you; the voluntary sector organisations have been successfully helping local people overcome the challenges brought about by inequity for many years. But, the last few years has seen the introduction of new challenges, the likes of which have not been seen; ranging from the impact of the cost of living crisis, reduction in statutory service provision, and the legacy of Covid-19 – all of which has led to lower than average life expectancy, and increased hardship for our community. Funded by the National Lottery, Halton and St Helens Connected is a new project hosted by Halton & St Helens VCA. Designed to look at health inequality, and how the voluntary sector can help to address it, the project will begin with this baseline survey. We would be very grateful if you could complete the survey – it is very short and shouldn’t take more than five minutes...
