We’re pleased to be bringing together a team to support our development and networking of our communities with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. We're looking for people who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of others, are confident in meeting people and want to be part of a team that help each other in our common goal. We have a vacancy for a St Helens Senior Development Officer, this post is funded for 3 years and the salary is £28,398, full time (36 hours per week). We want to bring those with first-hand experience of living and working in St Helens into our organisation. We would welcome applications from those with direct experience of St Helens and their unique neighbourhoods and towns, with the skills that can support organisations and individuals working collaboratively to deliver change. As part of this new team you will have a unique opportunity to understand, influence and support neighbourhoods and communities in St Helens. St Helens Together Drop In Event - Thursday 9 February We know the rise in the cost of living is impacting everyone right now. Whether that’s a rise in your energy bills, a rise in the cost of your food shop, or an increase in day-to-day expenses, everyone is feeling the squeeze, and this can often have knock on effects on health and wellbeing. To support residents in the borough through this difficult time, local partners have come together to organise an event to provide free, confidential, and impartial advice and support on a range of issues including how to manage your bills and outgoings, managing debt, how to keep warm for less this winter and use less energy in the home, how to access food provision, what support and benefits are available to you that you could be missing out on, and more generally, how to keep well this winter. This event is taking place on Thursday 9 February 2023, between 4pm – 7pm, at St Helens Town Hall... Awards for All - King's Coronation The Coronation ceremony for His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey. The Coronation will see people across the UK and the Commonwealth come together to celebrate. The Coronation programme will include the procession and service at Westminster Abbey on 6 May, the ‘Coronation Big Lunch’ across the country on 7 May (with a concert taking place in Windsor in the evening), and ‘The Big Help Out’ community activity on the bank holiday, Monday 8 May. Funding is available of up to £10,000 for events and activities through the National Lottery Awards for All programme. National Lottery Awards for All does not have a deadline, but it can take up to 12 weeks from the point of application submission to receiving funding, which means applications for the Coronation weekend should be made before the middle of February... Cheshire Refreshed Police and Crime Plan When the Police and Crime Plan was published in November 2021, they promised to update it so that it would continue to reflect the priorities of Cheshire’s communities. After a public consultation in Autumn last year and liaising with key partners across the county, they are pleased to be launching a refreshed version of the Plan... Halton VCSE Response Meeting - 17th February 2023 The next Halton VCSE Response meeting will be on Friday 17th February at 11am. The meeting will be conducted online using Zoom (requires internet access only). We will hear from some new friends, have plenty of time to engage and update one another on projects and activities, as well as touching base with the local Council and NHS organisations... Free LGBT+ Awareness Training - St Helens Would you like to develop your knowledge and understanding of LGBT+? This 1 hour introductory online session on 20 February 2023, 10:00 – 11:00 provides an excellent foundation of knowledge and understanding, alongside meaningful discussion and a safe space for individuals to explore their underlying beliefs and assumptions. It will also help you to feel confident in your understanding of LGBT+ history and its impact today, gender identity and diversity, LGBT+ terminology, and the rights of LGBT+ people under UK law... Expression Of Interest- Beyond Programme: Engagement/Co-production Partner Expressions of interest are being sought from an organisation/s to partner with the Beyond Programme to ensure that the work and the development of the programme is shaped by the voices of children, young people and families across Cheshire and Merseyside. Beyond Programme’s objectives are to deliver transformational change through integration and early intervention with a particular focus on addressing the wider determinants of health inequalities and the impact resulting from these. Expressions of Interest providing a comprehensive response to this project brief should be submitted to Beyond, by 4pm on Wednesday 15 February 2023...
