St Helens Cares TALKFEST - Cost Of Living and Keeping Well During Winter TALKFEST engagement sessions will be taking place in December with the theme of 'Cost of living and keeping well during winter'. TALKFEST is a community engagement initiative and is an opportunity to engage on various topics, provide information and listen to views and feedback to inform local work. The topics at these sessions will cover Information about winter viruses, Key actions for keeping well during winter, Getting your views on how to approach winter given increases in the cost of living, Information on the support that is available. There will be two sessions held virtually on Wednesday 7th December via Microsoft Teams... North West England Hong Kong BN(O) Welcome Hub VCFSE Grant Applications – Now Open Applications to the North West England Hong Kong BN(O) VCFSE Grant programme are now open. Applications will be open until Tuesday 3rd January 2023. VCFSE organisations will be able to apply for one of two grant. Grant 1; of up to £5,000, and Grant 2; of up to £10,000. Information sessions will also be held in order for organisations interested in applying for funding to ask questions of the SMP and for them to give information on how to complete a good application... Health and Wellness Event - 3rd December Health and Wellness Event, Saturday 03 December, 9:00am - 12:30pm, DCBL Stadium, Widnes. You can get help with Community living well projects, Cancer support groups, Advice on the cost of living, Lifestyle guidance, Care navigation at your local surgery. COVID-19 vaccinations will also be available on site for primary doses and those eligible for Autumn Boosters, no appointment needed... Eurovision Cultural Commissions In 2023, Liverpool will host the Eurovision Song Contest. This provides a unique creative opportunity. Culture Liverpool are looking for creatives, artists, makers, performers and dreamers to help transform Liverpool through this period with a unique arts and cultural commissioning programme operating within a limited timeframe... Riding for the Disabled - Christmas Fair East Liverpool RDA , one of our new members, is attending The Manor Christmas Fair at Rainhill, with Buttons the Shetland pony, raffle, gifts to purchase and the opportunity to find out more about being involved from their friendly volunteer team... Exploitation Survey - Cheshire Has anyone ever gained from you financially or materially through manipulation or intimidation? This could be a form of exploitation. Anyone could be targeted by people who exploit them and agencies across Cheshire want to put a stop to this. Whether you have directly experienced exploitation, or not, Davis and Associates want to understand what everyone living or working in Cheshire, over the age of 16, knows and thinks about exploitation. This will help them to improve how they support our communities to be resilient against these crimes. If you have experienced exploitation there is also an opportunity to tell them about what help you would have found helpful... Are you interested in becoming a Foster Family? Community Development Manager - One Wirral One Wirral CIC are excited to announce they are recruiting a Community Development Manager to join the team. This new role will have responsibility for existing and new community development projects that work with partners to understand health inequalities, coproduce solutions with communities and deliver innovative activities. First Third Sector Trends 2022 Report Third Sector Trends 2022 first report: structure, purpose, energy and impact of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in England and Wales. Third Sector Trends has been running since 2008. The study has been surveying the sector every three years since 2010 and as such is the largest survey of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in England and Wales. In 2022, 6,071 responses were received across England and Wales (an average of ~600 responses in each region). Designed to complement NCVOs UK Civil Society Almanac, it is the only fully representative longitudinal survey which can produce robust and detailed comparative analysis at a regional and national level. This is the first of five reports from Third Sector Trends 2022... Warm Spaces - Keeping St Helens Warm This Winter Warm Spaces are somewhere you can go to get warm, stay warm and enjoy a little company. In some you'll also be able to get refreshments. Many households and families will be struggling to pay their fuel bills this winter and may also be experiencing food poverty and social isolation. Estimates show that 42% of households in St Helens are likely to be impacted by fuel poverty. St Helens Council wants to do more for its residents this winter to ensure they are warm and to ease some of the unprecedented pressures on people at this time of year due to rising costs. To ensure that residents have access to somewhere warm and comfortable, residents of all ages across the borough will be welcome to come into libraries and leisure centres, to stay warm, as part of the St Helens Together Warm Spaces initiative. The Warm Spaces directory shows where known Warm Spaces are available to residents in the borough. It also includes information on facilities and access... Citizens Advice Halton - Trustees Wanted Join Citizens Advice Halton's board of trustees and be a leading part of a vital local charity which helps thousands of people each year to find a way forward and solve the problems they face. With the cost of living crisis Citizens Advice Halton has never been more desperately needed and so are looking for up to 5 new trustees. They are particularly keen to hear from women and people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds. Being a Trustee is a great way to broaden one's horizons, develop new skills and use one's experience for the benefit of the community and we will reimburse expenses too...
