We are pleased to announce that we are running a "Winter Coat Drive" in Halton. We aim to collect as many winter coats as possible so we can offer them for free to people who are in need. Any age, size & gender. They should be clean & wearable with working zips & buttons. You will be helping your community keep warm this winter. Drop off points up to 11th November 2022... The next Halton VCSE Response Meeting is on Friday 11th November at 11am and the next St Helens VCSE Forum meeting is on Monday 21st November at 10am. The meetings will be conducted online using Zoom (requires internet access only). We are bringing key partners together to connect with the sector to provide and share key developments and we will update on key work and initiatives... Amparo provides emotional and practical support for anybody who has felt the impact of suicide. They are currently running 40 minute sessions for professionals, delivered via Zoom by one of Amparo’s Team Leaders, the sessions have already drawn attendance from all across the country and have been popular with staff working in organisations ranging from the police, the NHS, social care and the voluntary and community sectors. The sessions cover the role of Amparo and how people can refer someone for support. The Zoom sessions allow them to reach more people across the Amparo service area when it’s not possible to attend face to face meetings. There are a maximum of 15 places on each session... Funding Alerts With Imminent Deadlines The External Funding Team at Halton Borough Council have sent over three grant funding alerts that may be of interest and whose imminent deadlines prevent inclusion in the next (November) Halton Funding monthly bulletin... St Helens Community Governance Review Consultation - 3 October - 30 December 2022 St Helens Borough Council is undertaking a Community Governance Review of the existing parish councils and in response to a valid petition for the creation of a new town council in the Newton-le-Willows East and West wards. They began the review with the publication of the Terms of Reference which sets out the timetable for the review and refers to a two-stage consultation period. The first stage of the consultation period began on 3 October, and they would like to invite residents and interested parties to provide their views and comments on either the existing parish council arrangements or the proposal for the creation a new town council in the Newton-Le-Willows wards. The closing date for the first stage of the consultation is Friday 30 December 2022... Many organisations are working tirelessly to meet this challenge, but the combination of greater need and funding not stretching so far is causing them extra strain. Online Menopause Support Group - Nightstop Communities Nightstop Communities Northwest are currently running an online Menopause Support group every Wednesday at 11am. This is a support group for members of the community who are either going through the menopause, have experienced it, or would like to know more about it to support family or loved ones who are experiencing. This is a very informal session, allowing everyone to come together to discuss symptoms, side effects, tried and tested medication, herbal remedies or share stories, everyone is welcome... Liverpool City Region Equality Panels The LCR Equality Panels have been established to advise, support and challenge Liverpool City Region’s political leaders and policymakers to tackle the discrimination and disadvantage that cause injustice and inequality in society. The Equality Panel offers an opportunity to join with others to be a strong voice to influence decision making on key issues. They are recruiting members for each of the following Equality Panels... Peer Supporters Wanted - Trinity Safe Space Trinity Safe Space Charity, which supports asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants in Halton, has been successful in gaining funding from the UK’s Government’s Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities for a pilot project to improve the mental wellbeing of our beneficiaries. It began in August 2022 and will end on January 31st, 2023. They still need more Peer Supporters/Listening Ears. If you would like to join them on this exciting project... Charity Trustee Support and Resources Getting on Board is a trustee recruitment and diversity charity.
