All Together Active: Launching Cheshire and Merseyside's Physical Activity Strategy Cheshire and Merseyside’s Population Health Board has commissioned the two Active Partnerships in the subregion, Active Cheshire and MSP, supported by Sport England, to develop a new strategy to develop a new strategy to increase levels of physical activity. The new strategy, All Together Active, will be launched at an online event on Wednesday 12th October 2022, where you’ll hear from a range of influential people from health and politics about why the strategy is important and what role partners can play in bringing the strategy to fruition. This event is open to anyone working across the public, private and third sector in Cheshire and Merseyside who has a specific interest in health inequalities and the health and wellbeing of the subregion’s residents... St Helens Community Governance Review Notice of a Community Governance Review Parish Councils in St Helens Borough Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007. St Helens Borough Council has commenced a Community Governance Review covering the whole of the St Helens Borough. The purpose of the Review is to enable the Council to consider what changes might be needed to parish arrangements. The Council are also in receipt of a valid petition requesting the creation of a Town Council covering Newton-le-Willows East and Newton-le-Willows West wards. Whilst undertaking the borough wide review the Council will invite representations in relation to the petition. The Council will conduct the first stage of the review process and invite residents and interested organisations to submit their views on existing arrangements, together with any proposals for change, from 3 October 2022 to 30 December 2022... Anti-Racism Training Consultation Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has commissioned Jane Eme-Power, a Human Resources consultant specialist with over 30 years’ experience, to undertake research on hearing the voices of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic businesses, community groups and residents on Your experiences of racism, discrimination and harassment as a user of services provided by the LA’s including your wider experiences of racism, and secondly to hear your views on what you would expect to see in the design of a RE training programme for staff... Change, Grow, Live (CGL) St Helens have some office some office furniture they no longer need and wanted to see if any organisations would benefit from it. They have around 30 + desks which they no longer need... Funding Officer - Lottery Community Fund National Lottery Community Fund are looking for a new part time Funding Officer to join the passionate, vibrant and friendly team in the North West Region to be part of ensuring their funding supports a wide variety of communities and places locally. The role will cover two areas – Sefton and St Helens, 0.8 FTE. The team is based remotely across the North West of England and this role is to support delivery in Liverpool City Region. Ideally the successful candidate will live in one of these areas, or within Liverpool City Region and will be part of the local team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of several other Funding Officers. As a member of the funding team you will assess applications for funding and manage grants from the Reaching Communities and Partnerships programmes. You will use your local knowledge and experience, and the experience of grant holders and local stakeholders, to ensure they are making the best decisions on the grants they make... Trinity Safe Space and Partners Project are looking for Volunteers They are looking for dedicated volunteers who can give up to 2 hours a week for 6 months to support asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants in the Borough of Halton. As a Peer Supporter/Listening Ear you will befriend one of their client group, to offer support, plan activities and enable access to appropriate events, to reduce their social isolation and improve their mental health and wellbeing. We have a budget to enable them to participate. This is a flexible role which enables you to meet at mutually convenient times and in agreed places with a view to enabling them to feel more included in their community... St Helens Suicide Memorial Event - Thursday 29th September 2022 St Helens annual Suicide Memorial Service will be held on Thursday 29th September 2022 this year at St Helens Town Hall, Library Street, St Helens, WA10 1HP. The event will start at 7pm with arrivals from 6:30pm. The memorial service aims to support the community and families who have lost a loved one to suicide and bring them together to remember and honour their loved ones. Families and community members are encouraged to attend and relax as well as sharing lived experience with others and access support from services, if they feel they would like to. Families are encouraged to bring a photo of their loved one they want to remember and share with others... Maternal Mental Health Service - Silver Birch Hubs Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is working in collaboration with the Improving Me Local Maternity System in Cheshire & Merseyside and Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the maternal mental health service which supports local communities to access treatment and care if they’ve experienced loss, distress or trauma during pregnancy and birth. It’s been four months since they launched the pilot service for patients in Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens and Wirral and they've received more than 80 referrals. From 22 August, they will extend this offer and accept referrals for patients in Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Halton, Sefton and Warrington... Include-IT Mersey Project: Volunteer Coordinator Sefton CVS is seeking to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator on its Include-IT Mersey digital inclusion project, funded by the European Social Fund and National Lotter Community Fund as part of its Building Better Opportunities programme. This full-time post covers the six boroughs of the Liverpool City Region, providing an excellent opportunity to work with a range of voluntary sector organisations and volunteers to help support the project’s work. The role presents an fantastic opportunity to help shape the volunteering element of the project, building on its excellent achievements to date; and will be a perfect opportunity for a motivated, self-starter with a passion for volunteering.
