VS6 UK-SPF Update For The Sector Following on from the VS6 “UK Shared Prosperity Fund: Making the case for Liverpool City Region's VCFSE Sector” event held in May, the VS6 Partnership have continued to strive to work with the Combined Authority to shape the Liverpool City Region’s UK-SPF investment plan. Place based VCFSE leaders from our CVSs have also been working with local authority colleagues to advocate for the sector at a local level. To expand more upon the work of the VS6 Partnership and provide an update on the current position, as well as the Combined Authorities draft investment plan, a briefing for the VCFSE sector has been produced. The briefing goes into more detail of the progress made, challenges faced and next steps once the Combined Authority investment plan is finalised... Have Your Say: St Helens Community Workshop -16th August Do you live in WA9 or WA10? Do you care about your community? Do you have ideas about what community means? Researchers from the Heseltine Institute at the University of Liverpool are doing some work on what community means to people in the St Helens area. They have carried out a survey of local people, and are now hosting workshops to try to understand how people feel about their local area. The workshop will involve some discussion and activities and will take no more than an hour. Free refreshments will be available... Following on from the changes made to the Halton Levels of Need last month, Halton Safeguarding Development Office have sent over their revised ‘What to do if you have a concern about a child’s welfare’ flowchart... Impact & Monitoring Worker - Sahir House Sahir House is currently restructuring to become a leaner, more focused organisation. As part of this exercise, they have committed to investing in the provision of specialist outreach and support services for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, questioning and intersex people across Merseyside. The charity proves what community can achieve together - they were, and remain, a Merseyside success story. They are looking to recruit a suitably experienced Impact and Monitoring Worker to help support the reporting and monitoring requirements of the charity through its next stage of development... St Helens Mind - Allotment Family Open Day St Helens Mind has an Allotment Family Open Day this Friday 29th July 11 am to 3pm, so people can meet the team, enjoy the fab surroundings and find out more about them. The allotment, Sound of Mind Singers, Cinema group and Music group are there for anyone who might benefit from trying something new, meeting other people, having a laugh and therefore boost your wellbeing... People Needed for Advisory Committee The Cheshire and Merseyside Advisory Committee deals with the recruitment and recommendation for the appointment of Magistrates across the region and is currently seeking new volunteers to join its ranks. You do not need any prior legal training to assess judicial aptitude, but you must have excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement of character and a willingness to interview candidates for the Magistracy. Past interviewing experience is helpful but not essential as training will be provided to all successful candidates. Interviews are generally conducted online so you will require reliable internet access. Members will not normally be appointed for a period that would extend beyond their 70th birthday and those appointed may serve up to a maximum of 9 years. The time commitment is very flexible and members can choose to interview on days that suit their own schedules and existing commitments...

As the Modern Slavery Case Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery in the service, where applicable in a given geographic area. You will undertake daily duties to ensure the smooth running of the service. The role will involve assisting clients with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living... Third Sector Trends 2022 in North West England So far 4,445 voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises have joined the study. We really need you to take part in the North West so that we can build a picture of what is happening locally in Halton and St Helens, what has changed since 2016 and 2019 and what you think is going to happen next.
