Living A Good Life In St Helens - Health Inequalities Event

We invite you to come together to talk and hear about what it means to live a good life in St Helens, and some of the things that may get in the way of that. This workshop has been designed to listen and learn from people who live, work and are passionate about St Helens, to find out what life is really like here and what is needed to support everyone to reach their potential, so that no one is disadvantaged. Halton Holiday Activity Fund Applications Now Open

Halton’s Easter, Summer and Christmas, School Holiday activity and food provision, are now live. The Health Improvement Team at Halton Borough Council would like to work together with a number of children and young people’s providers, to offer positive activities and free lunches to children and young people in Halton, who are in need. The HAF (Holiday Activity with Food Programme) funding from the DFE is available for the 2022 Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. Are you a provider of physical activity in Halton or St Helens?  You could be a sports club, an instructor, an organisation, a group of volunteers, a gym/leisure facility or a place where people meet to take part in physical activity or sport. MSP would like to hear from you about your knowledge and experience of social prescribing – whether you know a lot, a little or nothing at all about it, and whether you have received referrals through from social prescribing or not. Halton Shared Lives Service

Halton Shared Lives Service provides care for people who need support due to age, illness or disability. The Service provides day care, short breaks and long term accommodation to enable people to live an ordinary life in the community with people who care and are willing to ‘share’ their lives. Shared Lives Carers use their own home as a base. The person being cared for shares in the family life of the Carer, including their wider network of family and friends in the community. Carers provide company and meaningful activities in a comfortable and safe environment. The aim is to promote independence and choice and to improve the health and well-being of the person being cared for. Carers can support up to three people at any one time. Everton in the Community Score Programme

Everton in the Community is launching a new programme to help young people in the region pursue careers in Health and Social Care. The charity, which is part of Everton FC, has launched SCORE (Supporting Career Opportunities, Recruitment and Employment) in a bid to help tackle staff shortages across the health and social care sector. Funded by The Prince’s Trust, the programme will give young people aged 16-30 from across Liverpool City Region access to training, employment support, apprenticeships and one-to-one mentoring, enabling them to kick-start their career path.
