Job Vacancy Local Implementation Lead (Halton) Closing Date 19th November

We are recruiting for a part time Local Implementation Lead. This is a new role which is key to the success of the Lloyds Bank Foundation Development Team’s work in the six communities that are part of their People and Communities work. The overall purpose is to support Lloyds Bank Foundation’s Development team to develop and deliver their asset based ‘system change’ work with charities and a wide range of partners in Halton.  The focus of the work is to develop approaches to how services for those with complex social needs can be designed, delivered and resourced – with a focus upon the unique contribution small and medium size charities (SMCs) make to meeting those needs, within the context of austerity, Brexit, Covid 19 as well as local challenges. You’ll be an energetic and enthusiastic and unphased by working to deadlines or under pressure with a good eye for detail, enabling us to deliver our emerging programme of work with excellence...

Anti-Bullying Week - One Kind Word

Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us. This is one of the reasons, that ‘One Kind Word’ has been chosen as the theme of AntiBullying Week taking place from 15 to 19 of November 2021. Free Training / Support For Volunteers

The Local Leaders programme is a series of free workshops ran by St Helens Adult and Community Learning (ACL) to support local volunteers and members of community groups or charities. MHSF - Helplines Fund with Bupa Foundation

The Mental Health Sustainability Fund is pleased to launch a new Helplines Fund in November 2021. With a generous donation from Bupa Foundation, The Association of Mental Health Providers is proud to administer the first targeted grant-making element within the Mental Health Sustainability Programme; to support organisations who have a helpline element to be positively impacted with regards their sustainability at this stage in England’s pandemic response. This fund will provide small grants of up to £5,000 (from a pot of £50,000), to support sustainability in small-medium sized (up to £250,000 turnover) mental health voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations who offer a helpline provision...

Household Support Fund for St Helens Residents

Residents in St Helens Borough facing financial hardship this winter will be supported by a new grant to help buy food, pay utility biils and meet other essential living costs. At a meeting this week, St Helens Borough Council’s Cabinet approved the distribution of a £1,779,581 ‘Household Support Fund’ allocated by central government, primarily intended to cover food and energy – with guidance stipulating that at least 50 per cent of funding should be provided to households with children or young adults...

The Windle United Fund

The Windle Unuted fund will support a wide range of charitable projects in the St Helens area with a particular focus on projects that target children and young people, the elderly or people with disabilities as per the original charitable objects of the charity. Grants of up to £2000 are available and the total budget is £20k. Funding is availble for all St Helens groups, with priority given to projects that benefit residents in the ancient township areas of Windle, postcodes WA10 and WA11...

A free Christmas party for Mersey Care staff, young carers and their families will be held on Monday 20 December at the Titanic Hotel, Regent Road, Liverpool. Autumn Survey - Cheshire Police & Crime Commissioner

This a chance for residents across Cheshire to have their say on what's happening in their communities, their experience with the police, and how they view their police service in general. This in-depth survey is being carried out by the Police & Crime Commissioner who controls a budget of over £240 million, he sets the policing element of residents’ council tax (police precept), and sets out the public’s policing and crime priorities for the Chief Constable to deliver in order to keep Cheshire communities safe...
 


Free Webinar Pause and Anna Freud Centre - Nov 30th 

One in four women whose children have been permanently removed from their care are likely to have successive children removed within the following seven years. Despite this, these women often do not receive appropriate support from services. The Anna Freud Centre in collaboration with Pause, a charity working with women who have experienced, or are at risk of, repeat removals of children from their care, piloted an 18 month Mentalisation Based Treatment group intervention with women who had at least two children removed from their care and were at risk of repeat removals due to the impact of complex trauma on their parenting. This small pilot has led to a further development of an MBT group to support these women and to help them in future relationships and with emotion regulation difficulties. This free event, aimed at social workers, pause practitioners, psychologists, psychotherapist and other practitioners working with women affected by recurrent removals...

Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week

The Gas Safe Charity is offering free carbon monoxide (CO) Zoom workshops this Autumn to help launch Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week on the 22nd November. As the days get colder and the heating is turned on, the potential risks of CO poisoning increase. The workshops last about an hour and are a mix of practical information and interaction.They are aimed at staff and volunteers from any organisation that delivers a service in the home of a vulnerable person.
