Lloyds Bank Foundation - Halton Workshop Our brilliant colleagues at Lloyds Bank Foundation are hosting a workshop on Wednesday 24th February, starting at 09.30. This session will pick up from where their recent workshop left off. In that workshop we discussed the strengths Halton has, particularly in the light of the changes that have happened during the response to COVID 19 and some of the changes we’ve seen taking place... Coronavirus (COVID-19) Guidance For The Charity Sector The Charity Commission have updated their guidance to help with running your charity during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Understandably, charities are concerned about what to do during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, so they have set out their response to the most commonly asked questions... Peri-natal Women’s Mental Health Small Grants Programme As part of the Cheshire & Merseyside Women & Children’s Services Partnership, partners have secured funding to further develop and enhance the work of grass roots voluntary and community groups on women’s peri-natal mental health across the sub-region. The funding will support very local activity to support women and their families who are expecting a child or have recently given birth. They may have been affected by social isolation due to Covid-19... We've created a webform for anyone who would like to submit their views... We can all honestly say that 2020 was an incredibly challenging and difficult year. One which continues into 2021 and will likely have an impact in the coming years, particularly on our mental health. Since the start of the first lockdown in March 2020, voluntary organisations, self-organised groups, charities, faith groups and social enterprises not only looked to continue their services where possible, they also stepped up and met the increase in demand. This was to make sure people who had been affected the most in our communities were not alone and they can access the support available. We want this directory to be useful to not only other providers and partners but to the public who may just need to know what help is out there. So here is your CALL to ACTION… £165,000 Waste Prevention Fund For Liverpool City Region Community Groups A share of £165,000 is up for grabs to help community groups make the Liverpool City Region a cleaner and greener place. The funding has been made available for community and voluntary groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations, who can reduce household waste, encourage recycling and resource re-use and prevent carbon emissions. The projects will also have to demonstrate wider positive impacts on the environment, health and education. The money is coming from the Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority and Veolia Community Fund 2021/22, which has been running annually since 2006... Free webinar for Liverpool City Region employers and organisations delivered by Knowsley Council and Liverpool Council to raise awareness of Specific Learning Difficulties, Learning Disabilities and Autism. The session is informative, providing best practices to employers which will help support employees with Specific Learning Difficulties, Learning Disabilities and/or Autism... Tackling County Lines | Free Virtual Event The 'Tackling County Lines, a proactive safeguarding approach' event is a FREE 2 day conference hosted by the National County Lines Coordination Centre , which is available to all agencies to attend and will take place on 23rd and 24th March. Thereafter, all the material will be available to view on demand. It will be particularly useful for law enforcement staff, decision makers, frontline practitioners and their managers. This event will provide knowledge and understanding of county lines criminality, including exploitation of both children and vulnerable adults... NHS Charities Funding - Open Call for VCFS Applications As the Lead Charity on behalf of regional NHS Charities, Alder Hey Children’s Charity are delighted to be hosting an Open Call for implementation proposals, for funding through NHS Charities Together Stage 2 Community Partnership Grant... Do you want to make a different to SEND services in Halton? If so why not join Halton SEND Carers Forum. The Parent carer forum is a group of parents and carers of disabled children aged 0 -25 years. Their aim is to make sure the services in their area meet the needs of disabled children and their families. They do this by gathering the views of local families and then working in partnership with Halton Borough Council, education settings, health providers and other providers to highlight where local services, processes and commissioners are working well, or challenge when changes or improvements need to be made. Forums usually have a steering group of parents who lead this work and listen to the views of other parents in the local area to make sure they know what is important to them... Merseyside Youth Association - Vacancies Merseyside Youth Association provides innovative, practical and positive support to children and young people. Established in 1890, MYA draws on an enormous depth of experience and knowledge whilst remaining dynamic and fresh in its approach. MYA delivers a wide range of early intervention, prevention projects and workforce development across Merseyside.They currently have three vacancies... iCAN Warning: Boots recalls Multivitamins Because They Were Incorrectly Packaged Boots has recalled Boots Multivitamins supplements because they have been incorrectly packed with multivitamins containing iron. This resulted in vitamin K not being present within the supplement and iron incorrectly added to the supplements instead. Iron has not been mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk to individuals who may also be consuming iron supplements in addition to these multivitamins. This affects multivitamins sold between 12 and 19 January 2021 only... Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Willowbrook is an Outstanding Hospice based in St Helens. They provide care and support for people who live within the boroughs of Knowsley and St Helens. They are recruiting for a full-time (37 hours per week) Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to join their Volunteer Engagement team based at the Living Well building. The salary range for this role is £19,737- £21,142 per annum. They are looking for a person who is truly passionate about the volunteer sector, has excellent communication skills and is highly proficient in I.T and utilising social media. The successful applicant will be subject to a full DBS check. Closing date is 26th February 2021...
