Youth Employment Hub Survey

Young people are amongst those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of job prospects and access to training, so the Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, wants to hear your views on creating youth employment hubs.  Working with Job Centre Plus and a range of local youth organisations, the Metro Mayor wants to create the hubs to support 16-25 year olds enabling them to access all of the skills and employment support they need in one place...



CFLM Positioning Statement on LCR Cares

The Community Foundation for Merseyside have produced the Liverpool City Region COVID-19 Response Positioning Statement. In response to the pandemic, the Community Foundation for Merseyside launched the LCR Cares COVID-19 Community Support Fund in partnership with the LCR Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram. Through funding from the Metro Mayor, National Emergencies Trust (NET) and a public fundraising campaign and by repurposing existing charitable funds a total of £1,774,657 has been raised for Coronavirus emergency response (as of 5th August). In order to meet the urgent demand, funds raised were distributed within days of the government-imposed national lockdown....

Culture Recovery Fund

Financial support for cultural organisations that were financially stable before Covid-19, but are now at imminent risk of failure is avaiable. This funding is to ensure that, by 31 March 2021, successful applicants are either fully or partially reopened, or operating on a sustainable, cost efficient basis, so that they are able to reopen at a later date. Closing date for this round of applications is 21st August...


Distance Aware - A Campaign of Polite Prompts

With many people nervous about returning to social spaces, workplaces and public transport, NAVCA was contacted by Baroness Finlay of Llandaff and asked to contribute to the DistanceAware scheme as it was being developed. As part of this they have developed a set of brand guidelines, communications information and more resources.  #DistanceAware seems to have taken over Twitter and is being used by thousands of people to help them feel more confident about leaving the house, or showing that they understand some people will be nervous in public places...

Bikeability Scheme Now Taking Place In St Helens

'Getting back to work while the way we live our lives continues to be affected by COVID-19 has been a challenge. There may be things playing on your mind which can leave you feeling anxious or stressed, and it’s understandable if you feel in need of some support or advice to help you build up your confidence about work or deal with any issues that are affecting your mental health. So don’t forget you can reach out at any time to Able Futures, who deliver the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service, which can give you someone to talk to for nine months about how you can feel better...

Amparo - Support Following Suicide

Amparo offers an easy-to-access service backed up by a non-geographic telephone number and/or simple online referral form. Locally-based Suicide Liaison Workers manage a caseload of beneficiaries, helping them with practical issues arising from suicide and ensuring they are linked into local support networks. A comprehensive assessment of support needs is undertaken, a support plan is prepared and Amparo measures the impact of this using Short WEMWEBS. Referrals can be made by anyone - they work with, and encourage referrals from, emergency support services, coroners, the NHS or other local support agencies, as well as self-referrals. Referrals are triaged with the aim of making contact within 24 hours of receipt...
