St Helens VCSE Forum - 10th August 2020 The next St Helens VCSE Forum meeting will be on Monday 10th August 12-2pm. Due to the current COVID-19 guidance we will be conducting it online using Zoom (requires internet access only) The meeting will be to discuss the Borough Strategy. This is the key session for the VCSE sector and will allow you to hear about the draft priorities and it's your chance to create the kind of St Helens you would like to see... Lloyds Bank Foundation - COVID-19 Recovery Fund Grants Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales has ringfenced 2 of its COVID-19 Recovery Fund grants for each of the six communities that are part of our People and Communities work. Applications open on the 3rd August 2020 and will close at 5pm on the 11th September 2020... The Women’s Organisation and Enterprise Hub Skills have some exciting online events coming up to support residents within the Liverpool City Region thinking about self-employment or looking to upskill and develop in their existing business... Focus Employment Hub Limited will be recording "In Focus" at LCR 106.7 fm on 11th August, if anyone has any "What's On's" that reflect equality, community and diversity, please pass them onto John Parry... Closure of Coronavirus Community Support Fund The Coronavirus Community Support Fund will be closing on the 17th of August – the full statement and links can be found... Commons Select Committee Report - Readying the NHS and Social Care For The COVID-19 Peak The Commons Select Committee have produced their first examination of the health and social care response to COVID-19. The committee will be examining the ventilator challenge and the procurement of PPE in more detail in the autumn... Citizens Advice St Helens - Your Views On Their Services During the current exceptional circumstances, Citizens Advice St Helens has had to change the way they provide advice to the local community. They would like to know your opinions on how they can continue to provide these services, and also how they may develop new ways of working in the future. They are keen to understand how the health, family life, and livelihoods of local people, and more importantly their futures, have been impacted upon during this time. As a thank you for completing the questionnaire they are offering you the chance to be entered into a Prize Draw for high street vouchers valued at £50, £30, and £20... Volunteer Chaplain (Multifaith) with Merseyside Police Are you a good listener? Would you describe yourself as resilient? Are you in good standing with your faith community? Do you have two consecutive hours per week to be a volunteer chaplain to Merseyside Police officers, staff and family members? Merseyside Police have adopted an exciting new strategy to integrate its Chaplaincy service more effectively within the Force and in relation to other wellbeing provision. This will involve a combination of traditional chaplaincy - visiting stations and other places of work – with a new approach whereby chaplains, working in pairs, will facilitate reflective practice groups across the Force... Funding Bulletins from Halton Borough Council – August Our colleagues from Halton Borough Council’s External Funding Team have prepared some Funding Bulletins containing valuable information for voluntary organisations looking for grants to get projects off the ground. The Monthly funding bulletins offering information on funding opportunities in the following areas: Arts, Community & Voluntary, Environment & Heritage, European, Faith, Health, Schools, Sports and Youth... LCRCA Young People Survey & Opportunities Hub The Combined Authority (CA), would like to let you know that their commonplace site with the survey for young people and collated training and development opportunities is now live... Victims Services Survey - Cheshire PCC The Police and Crime Commissioner is responsible for funding local support services for victims of crime. They are currently undertaking a Victim Needs Assessment which forms a review of existing services available to victims, highlights good practice and identifies gaps and areas where improvements could be made. This will determine the types of services they fund in the future to ensure services offered meet the needs of the community. They are aware there are lots of victims of crime who do not report to the police and they are keen to hear what support they need and what would encourage them to access this support in the future and have 2 ways in which you can help... Coalfields Food Insecurity Response Fund Freedom for Torture have recognised the need to extend support to survivors of torture who they cannot currently reach. They are therefore inviting small community-based organisations supporting survivors of torture during the pandemic to apply for a one-off small grant between £200 and £2000 from the COVID-19 Torture Survivor Emergency Relief Fund...
