To help celebrate Volunteers Week and Citizens Advice St Helens' 80th celebrations later this year, we are jointly organising an Awards event to recognise and reward the great work our volunteers give to the people and organisations of St Helens.  We are also looking to  showcase some of the great opportunities that people can get involved in and the difference they make to encourage more people to give their skills, time and experience.

The event will take place in St Helens Town Hall on Tuesday 4th June during Volunteers Week and all individuals nominated for the “Longest Serving Volunteer” Award will be invited to come along between 10am and 11am so that we can thank each one of them for the great work they do and the precious time they give up to help others with the help of distinguished guests.

From 11 am - 2pm, the event will be open to the general public to come along and meet other Voluntary and Community groups keen to recruit more volunteers to support the great work they do.

Volunteers are essential to many of the things that make St Helens a great place to live and work. People giving up their time freely to help others is happening all across our wonderful Borough. Last year more than 14,400 people volunteered their time, with over 43,000 hours given to local groups and causes.

We want to find the longest serving volunteer. It may not be that the longest serving volunteer comes from a large organisation. It may be the helper in a local sports team, or brownie group. Help us find those unsung heroes.

In addition to this special event, Volunteer Centre Halton and St Helens are also holding a number of events / days out that any volunteer from either Halton, St Helens or the wider area is welcome to attend or join.

Closing date for both registration and nominations will be 12 midnight on Friday May 17th 2019.
