Widnes Primary School Helps Fund Vital Medical Equipment

Staff, pupils and parents of Ditton Primary School in Widnes have come together to raise vital funds to purchase new syringe drivers for Halton Haven Hospice. The school chose to support this worthy cause in memory of Lesley Hardman, a much-loved teaching assistant who died in February. Volunteer Induction day - MIND St Helens

St Helens Mind urgently needs volunteers aged 18+ to help support people as befrienders for a couple of hours a week and to help the social groups run smoothly.  They particularly welcome men and people over 50 but people of all ages, interests and backgrounds are also required. Items Which Should Not Be Routinely Prescribed In Primary Care

Last year 1.1 billion prescription items were dispensed in primary care at a cost of £9.2billion. As the NHS has limited resources and this is a growing cost a number of areas of prescribing are being reviewed to ensure they are providing safe, high quality and cost effective treatments for patients. NHS England is working with Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to ensure its prescribing resources deliver the best possible value and health outcomes for local populations. A national consultation on commissioning guidance for items which should not be routinely prescribed in primary care has now opened, and will be running until 21st October 2017...

Volunteer Centre Halton Volunteer Recruitment Fair 2017 - Tuesday 17th October 11-2pm. The event will be held at Riverside College, Widnes. The fair will be a market place style event, for the most part, however, we would like to make the event as exciting and interactive as possible, so please feel free to be creative when considering how you might engage with the public. Cheshire Victim Services Directory

Halton & St Helens VCA, working with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire have compiled a directory and on-line resource for Victims Services in Cheshire in the voluntary and community sector. The directory is for anyone who has been affected by crime in Cheshire, the website will help to find the advice and support needed. This information is provided to anyone who may need support regardless of whether a crime has been reported or when it happened...
