Introduction To The Coalfields Community Investment Programme The Coalfields Regeneration Trust will be giving 2 presentations on 21st September at The Beacon Building, St Helens. The presentations will introduce the Coalfields Community Investment Programme offer. The first presentation will be an introduction to the Coalfields Community Investment Programme: Funding Support, this will include comprehensive information on the eligibility criteria and how to apply for up to £10,000 of funding for projects that will improve the Health, Employment Opportunities or Skills of people living in former coalfield areas... Four Estates - Youth Worker Vacancies Can you demonstrate your own experience and commitment in working with children and young people in an informal setting? Organisations which help to reduce crime and protect communities in Merseyside are being invited to apply for a share of a fund aimed at helping to build stronger, safer communities. This is the third year that Merseyside’s Police Commissioner Jane Kennedy has opened the Crime Prevention Fund which is used to help charities, community groups and social enterprises stop problems before they occur, by reducing the opportunities for crime and by deterring people away from becoming involved in anti-social and criminal behaviour. This year, the Commissioner is specifically urging organisations that are working to tackle the causes of serious and organised crime to apply for funding... New Course: Sexual Abuse Training The course is designed to focus on adult sexual offending, and the impact of sexual abuse on the child victims, and Non-Offending Parent (NOP). The day will also explore risk factors that offer a hypothesis relating to target groups, pathways and grooming strategies, along with the application of research-based frameworks designed to assimilate the heterogeneity of sexual offending behaviours and characteristics. Celebrate Willowbrook’s 20 Years In Style Willowbrook Hospice is inviting local people to join them for their Anniversary Dinner on 27 October at St Helens Town Hall. The event, which is part of the hospice’s 20th anniversary of caring for people across St Helens and Knowsley, promises to be a fabulous evening with delicious food, brilliant live entertainment and great prizes in the silent auction and raffle. Nichola Saunders, Head of Fundraising at the hospice said: “Many people don’t realise that Willowbrook is a charity and that without the generous support of the local communities of St Helens and Knowsley we wouldn’t be able to continue to provide our specialist care to our patients and their families. The Anniversary dinner is a great opportunity to help us celebrate the hospice’s 20 years of caring and I’m sure it will be a wonderful evening.”... Liverpool John Moores University are working on a project for CHAMPS (the Cheshire & Merseyside public health collaborative) on approaches to developing community resilience. Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board Meeting Further to discussions at the St Helens Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board meeting on the 4th July it was agreed they would: Set dates for the individual workshops to populate the sub groups action plans. Identify the venue - venue to be Stephensons Resource Centre, L35 8LB, tea and coffee will be available on arrival and half way through the sessions. Summerfit - Free Activity / Exercise Class Taster Sessions For Halton Residents Various exercise classes running free of charge for adults to try during the Summer... High Sheriff And Merseyside Police Fund The fund aims to work with voluntary bodies and community groups in Merseyside to support community safety, crime prevention and security initiatives in their locality. Grants will normally range from £500 to £2500 and may be less than the figure applied for. All applications must meet the following objectives of the fund: To promote a safer and increased quality of life through the prevention of crime and the protection of people and property from criminal acts for the benefit of the public in and around Merseyside. To secure the advancement of education for the public benefit in all matters relating to community safety. To increase provision of diversionary activities and facilities that target young people to reduce crime and anti social behaviour... St Helens & District Diabetes UK - New Programme Of Meetings The next meeting of the St Helens & District Diabetes will be held on 1st September at the St Helens United Reformed Church. They are a friendly group offering information and support to people living with diabetes, and to anyone who wants to find out more about the condition. Diabetes UK meetings are free to attend and they have a good selection of information on diabetes available... Second Hand Office Furniture In Need Of A Good Home Clovemead have recently closed an office and as a result have some office furniture which is in need of a good home. It is currently residing in their warehouse in Widnes and they would love to donate it to a start up company / an organisation that is in need of some great quality office furniture. They currently have 9 complete desks comprising of polished chrome frames with cherry wood tops. In additional there are 4 low, desk top height filing draws that can fit at the end of the desk therefore allowing an L shaped design... NHS St Helens CCG Patient & Public Involvement Governing Body Lay Member NHS St Helens CCG wishes to recruit a dynamic and motivated Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) Lay Member to its Governing Body. Pre-Owned Mobility And NHS Equipment SILS (St Helens Independent Living Services) need your help to obtain equipment you or your family and friends no longer need.
