We're Moving.... Do You Need Any Office Furniture?

We are moving to our new office in St Helens this month.  We have a lot of office furniture including desks, office chairs, bookcases, lever arch files etc, available for our member organisations for free / small donation!

Our current St Helens office (Tontine House) will be open Friday 10th and 17th March, 10am to 3pm for you to visit and select any available furniture (you will have to arrange your own collection of any items).

Refugee Action Resettlement Worker Vacancies

Carbohydrates - The Lowdown

The Halton Diabetes UK Group is a support group for people who live in Halton and have diabetes. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 21st. The guest speaker will be Susan Gallagher, dietician at The Countess of Chester Hospital and also the lead for the Diabetes Essentials Education Programme in Halton. Susan will be discussing carbohydrates in our daily diet. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about carbohydrates and diabetes and Susan will give the facts and dispel the myths...


Zut Film Tells Inspiring Story of Tom Dowling and All Together NOW

Liverpool video agency Zut Media has produced an online film telling the remarkable story of Tom Dowling and his newspaper All Together NOW. Dowling was shot and instantly paralysed in Iran in 1974 at the age of just 20. He went on to forge a long career as a reporter with the Liverpool Echo, before setting up the free charity newspaper All Together NOW! in 2004...


Invitation To YEI Workshop

The DWP recently published a call for Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) funded activity to support young people into work across Liverpool City Region. Approximately £7.6m (£3.8m ESF and £3.8m YEI ) of funding is available, the deadline for Full Applications is 23 April 2017 and projects must cover the whole of Liverpool City Region.  The LEP is holding a workshop on Friday 10th March, 10am – 12 noon. Halton & St Helens VCA, working with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire have compiled a directory and on-line resource for Victims Services in Cheshire in the voluntary and community sector. The directory is for anyone who has been affected by crime in Cheshire, the website will help to find the advice and support needed. This information is provided to anyone who may need support regardless of whether a crime has been reported or when it happened...
