Women of Windmill Hill is a voluntary community group supporting women and the wider community on Windmill Hill. If successful in the Tesco Bags of funding bid they hope to develop a wide range of activities for children and young people in the woodland surrounding the Windmill Hill estate. Bridgewater Invests In Halton Midwifery Staff To Help Provide The Best Possible Care Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Bridgewater) is working with the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) to improve the support available for its midwives and maternity colleagues in Halton. The trust’s maternity service in Halton has signed the RCM’s Caring for You Charter, which aims to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of maternity staff. This supports and enables them to continue providing the highest levels of maternity care for women and their families. Launched in June, the campaign is aiming to get NHS organisations across the UK to sign up to the Caring for You Charter... Police & Crime Commissioner's Priorities - Consultation Merseyside’s Police Commissioner Jane Kennedy is asking local people and other agencies for their support in making the region’s road safer. Today she has launched a region-wide consultation asking people for their views on her existing policing priorities for Merseyside and is specifically asking whether they back her proposal to make ‘improving road safety’ a new priority for the region. Since 2010, Merseyside has witnessed a sharp increase in the number of people killed or seriously injured on the roads. In 2015, more than 11 people died or were seriously hurt every week on Merseyside’s roads. The region also saw more pedestrians killed or seriously hurt than anywhere else in the country... The Prince’s Trust Team Programme, delivered by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is designed to develop your skills,self confidence and motivation. Gaining recognised qualifications will help you to gain employment or enter into further education. This is at no cost to you. Join a team of about 15 people of similar age, both unemployed and employed. Spend 12 weeks having fun, making new friends, helping the community and the environment. During the course you will take part in team building activities, fund raising, work experience and take part in a residential week... St Helens and Districts Advanced Motorists Course Discounts The St Helens & District Group of Advanced Motorists are affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists, whose aim is to enable improvements in driving skill, knowledge, awareness and attitudes of drivers of all ages. In addition to the IAM Xmas 10% discount on the £149 course cost they offer a £90 discount for 25 year old and under (total £44), £60 discount for 35 years and under (total £74) and for the first 10 applicants of 60 years and over a discount of £50 (total £84). The courses last for 8-10 weeks (each Sunday from the Ibis Hotel, Haydock) and start in January, May and September... Recruitment Of An Independent Co-opted Member Of The Merseyside Police And Crime Panel This role is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the arrangements for police governance and accountability, which would involve scrutinising and supporting the Police and Crime Commissioner. The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 introduced significant changes in police governance and accountability; in particular, replacing Police Authorities by directly elected Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) from November 2012. In summary, the public accountability for the delivery and performance of the police service within each force is now placed into the hands of the PCC on behalf of their electorate. The PCC draws on this electoral mandate to set and shape the strategic objectives of their force area in consultation with the Chief Constable... Girls and Women’s Health in Halton Halton Borough Council’s Public Health team would like to invite you to an event to talk about the health of girls & women living in Halton. Our St Helens office is now open for you to visit and register an interest in any furniture you would like for your organisation (you will have to arrange your own collection of any items)...
