Volunteer Recruitment Fair 2016

The fair will be a market place style event, for the most part, however, we would like to make the event as exciting and interactive as possible, so please feel free to be creative when considering how you might engage with the public. We would like to request that your stand is manned for the whole time so that the last visitor has as good an experience as the first one.  You will be able to gain access from 10.30am and we ask that you arrive no later than 10.45 am, so that everything is in place in good time for the first visitors...


Delivering Differently for Young People in St Helens

It is St Helens Councils’ duty under Section 507B of the Education and Inspections Act 2006; “to secure, so far is reasonably practicable, equality of access for all young people to the positive, preventative and early help they need to improve their well-being”. In October 2015 an expression of interest was submitted by the Council and a number of strategic partners, to participate in the second round of the Government’s “Delivering Differently for Young People”, programme launched in 2014. St.Helens was one of six areas chosen from the twenty-six who applied. The Cabinet Office has allocated £35,000, to St.Helens to support a review how it delivers services to young people...


LCVS Social Value Workshop

Securing funding is harder than ever but this LCVS course will give you a competitive advantage and help to prove your work is value for money. You will already be creating lots of social value and this workshop will explains how you can measure, quantify and report it. Attendees will also learn how to use two free online resources including the Global Value Exchange and the Social Value Self-Assessment Tool. Trek the Great Wall of China for Willowbrook

Willowbrook Hospice is looking for intrepid explorers to join its latest fundraising challenge- trekking the Great Wall of China in October 2017. The five day trek (16-20 October) is part of the hospice’s 20th (China) anniversary and will include walking through wild landscapes with distant green river valleys and mountain peaks with one of the great wonders of the world as the backdrop. The trip will be rounded off with a visit to Beijing and an opportunity to visit spectacular sights such as The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square or the beautiful Temple of Heaven...


Volunteer Co-ordinator/Managers Forum

The Forum meets six monthly to share information, discuss issues, monitoring and anything else to do with volunteering. The meetings are informal and enjoyable. We hope you will feel able to participate. Should you feel it would be helpful or appropriate for your role as a Volunteer Manager/Co-ordinator, please come along. Free LCVS European Social Fund (ESF) Community Grants Briefing

National Recovery Walk (being held in Halton)
