Carbohydrates - The Lowdown!

The Halton Diabetes UK Group is a support group for people who live in Halton and have diabetes.

They are a small, friendly group of people and have regular meetings which alternate between Widnes and Runcorn where they have guest speakers from the healthcare profession who give lots of information about the various aspects of diabetes in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

People coming to their meetings are more than welcome to bring along family, friends or carers and they are always pleased to see healthcare professionals who wish to come along.

So, if you have not been to one of their meetings before, please do come along and see what they are all about!

You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

There are no charges and light refreshments are included.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 21st

 Time:  7.30pm – 9.00pm,

 St Paul’s Church Hall,
 Vicarage Road,
 WA8 7QD

The guest speaker will be Susan Gallagher, dietician at The Countess of Chester Hospital and also the lead for the Diabetes Essentials Education Programme in Halton.

Susan will be discussing carbohydrates in our daily diet.

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about carbohydrates and diabetes and Susan will give the facts and dispel the myths!

If you require any further information they will be very pleased to hear from you.
