Join the Cheshire Safer Future Communities Network NOW!
On November 15th, the people of Cheshire will elect their first ever Police and Crime Commissioner.
There are more than local voluntary, community and social enterprise groups working in the Cheshire policing area – they have a crucial role to play in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
Our local community groups are important because they work at grassroots level and are often on the frontline of crime and community safety issues
Local charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups are a valuable resource for election candidates, the media and the voting public who want to get under the skin of local policing and community safety issues.
Some of our community organisations work day in, day out with the victims of crime, whose voices need to be heard in the run up to the elections. Others work with offenders and ex-offenders and they know what works in reducing reoffending.
In all areas of community safety, the people working and volunteering in our community groups have valuable experience of what works and doesn’t work – November’s elections are an opportunity to tap in to their experience to find local solutions for local issues Safer Future Communities is a newly established network of local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations working to improve community safety. With such significant changes taking place it is vitally important that Cheshire’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector is able to articulate what it contributes to crime and community safety issues. The network is your opportunity to do this.
The launch of the network will take place in June, but you can register your details in advance.
