Coalfields Regeneration Trust
Grants are available of £500.00 to £5,000.00 under the Bridging the Gap Programme for the most deprived former coalfields wards. The grant can be for capital or revenue costs or a mixure of both but the project has to be completed and all grant funding spent by 31st March 2011

The Employable Communities Fund
This fund supports groups within the community, voluntary and faith sectors to target worklessness and progress individuals toward employment through learning and education. Grants of up to £12,000.00 per year are available to groups working in St. Helens

Community Wildlife
The Community Wildlife Fund programme aims to improve rural and urban environments so that people can enjoy them including:
· Protect wildlife habitats
· Create nature trails, woodland, walks or wildlife gardens
· Improve natural spaces such as rivers, ponds and woodlands.
The programme aims to encourage people to become more active and healthy by using the parks, gardening, creating opportunities for children to learn about nature.

Football Foundation – Facilities Grant Scheme
Various Grants are available to increase the participation in football and other sporting activities. The Types of facilities that can be developed are grass pitches, drainage/improvement, changing rooms, floodlights, pavilions and clubhouses, funding is also available for revenue purposes. e.g. a football development officer, the Foundation will usually fund up to 50% or eligible costs

Merseyside Police and High Sheriffs Fund
Groups can apply who can display a good record of past achievement in their community and to new bodies that can demonstrate clear, defined and accountable aims. You can apply for grants as you find necessary, but generally new projects will be preferred over those, which have received funds previously.
Preference will be given to projects that request equipment and capital expenditure, which stimulates new crime prevention and communality safety, approaches benefiting the local community, neighbourhood or area.
Typical grants will normally range from £500.00 to £2500.00

Hedley Foundation
The main aim of the trustees is to assist and encourage development and change, it follows that most grants will be of capital or one-off nature, along with new and innovative projects with a series of up to 3 annual grants.
These are generally no more than £5000.00 applications should be made on the application form available on the website.
The main objectives are: Young people their education recreation, support, training health and welfare. Disabled and terminally ill.

Scout Association – Large Grant
Grants are for values of over £2000.00 and are provided for a maximum of three years, the scheme supports-
· Increase Explorer Scouting opportunities for 13 to 18 years old
· Increase Opportunities for 18-25 year old
· Include minority ethnic communities
· Include provisions for girls and young women
Eligible expenditure: Taster Days: Volunteer training: Recruitment: Specialist fees:
The organisation must provide at lease 50% of the total project costs.

In the first instance you must submit an Expression of Interest Form, if successful an application form must then be completed

St. Helens Choosing Health-Small Grants Scheme
This scheme provides opportunities for groups to improve the health of communities, applications from voluntary and community groups are particularly welcomed along with evidence of working in partnership with other groups, please note that applications for equipment are only granted in exceptional circumstances.

Please give as much information about your project/activity as you can along with your mission statement, who benefits and what changes it will make to the community also how are you going to achieve the aims of the project and how will you evaluate the project.
