Is Awards for All right for you?
Do you need between £300 and £10,000?
Are you a voluntary or community organisation, school, health body or a parish or town council?
Do you have a UK based bank account in the name of your organisation?
Will your project be complete within one year and can you send your application
at least three months before your project starts?
To achieve their aim The Big Lottery Fund want to fund projects that meet one or more of the following outcomes
- People have better chances in life
- Stronger communities
- Improved rural and urban environments
- Healthier and more active people and communities
What Awards for All will not fund
- Retrospective activities Salaries
- Existing or repeat activities(unless 3 years since they were last carried out) Building or refurbishment costing over £25,000 inc VAT
- Day to day running costs Individuals
- Political or religious promotion Fundraising activities
- Used vehicles Routine repairs and maintenance
- Statutory obligations Contingency costs

- Must meet at least one programme outcome
- Show a clear link between outcomes and need
- Understand what they can and cannot fund

Is Reaching Communities right for you?
Reaching Communities - funding from £10,000 to £500,000 for revenue projects and/or up to £50,000 towards smaller capital projects
You can apply under this strand if you are: a registered charity, a voluntary or community group, a statutory body, a charitable or not for profit company or a social enterprise
Two stages - Outline proposal form and full application
Reaching Communities Buildings – funding of between £100,000 and £500,000
for large capital projects
You can apply if your project is within an eligible area (see The Big Lottery website for postcode checker), your building will be multi-purpose and are a registered charity, a voluntary or community group, parish or town council, a charitable or not for profit company or a social enterprise.
Three stages – Outline proposal form, stage two and stage three.
Big Lottery Fund want the following changes to communities as a result of their funding

Hints and Tips
- Check the guidance for eligible costs
- Do not copy the programme’s outcomes
- Outcomes must show a difference to the lives of the beneficiaries - not an activity
- Must link to at least one of the programme outcomes
- Aim, evidence of need, outcomes and activities must all show a clear link
