Big step for Compact in St Helens
A newly updated agreement is set to signal greater co-operation between local agencies and voluntary groups.
The organisations that make up the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) – including St Helens CVS, St Helens Council and Halton and St Helens NHS Primary Care Trust – have pledged to uphold and implement the new St Helens Compact.
The Compact is an agreement between organisations like the Council and its LSP partners - and the dozens of voluntary, community, faith and voluntary sports sector groups that exist locally.
“All these groups work to make things better,” said Cllr Marie Rimmer. “But by signing up to the compact we now hope to see improved communication between them, increased understanding and effective teamworking – benefiting the people of St Helens.
“The key principles behind the compact are respecting the contribution all groups make, understanding the constraints each group works to and recognising everyone’s role in providing quality services.”
St Helens CVS would like to encourage it's members to now become signatories to the local Compact, by downloading the signatory page, signing it and returning it to St Helens CVS.
For more information about the compact, you can read the briefing note attached to this news item or call St Helens Council on 01744 676789 or 676274 or St Helens Council for Voluntary Service on 01744 457100
