Go Active Games
At: Sutton Leisure Centre
Cost: FREE
Less than 24 hours after the Olympic torch passes through St Helens, leisure centre staff will be staging an action replay to mark the start of the Borough’s very own Go Active Games at Sutton Leisure Centre. The Olympic themed event takes place between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 2nd June. A packed programme features taster sessions for zumba, dance mats, a breakdancing demonstration by the UC Crew, judo, dance, athletics and mini golf.
There’ll also be a tug of war competition, welly throwing and a rowing machine challenge, plus free face painting and a chance to win a three-month Go Active membership. And, to keep everyone motivated, local radio station Wish FM will be broadcasting live from the event.
The Go Active torch relay gets underway from Selwyn Jones Leisure Centre in Newton-le-Willows at 8am, then makes its way to Sutton via Parr Swimming and Fitness Centre, Central Fitness, Queens Park Health and Fitness Centre and the Sherdley Park golf driving range. Its arrival at Sutton at 11am marks the start of the games.
