Healthwatch St Helens Communication and Engagement Officer Vacancy

Halton and St Helens VCA wants to employ someone who can support and develop Healthwatch St Helens through the provision of an information and communication service to ensure that the views of patients, the public and local communities inform the development of local health and social care services. Duties include: Assist Healthwatch members and the general public across all sectors to have a voice to ensure that Healthwatch St Helens has a significant influence on healthcare provision and social care services within St Helens. To use social media and other appropriate methods to promote the work of Healthwatch and to recruit new members and volunteers. Re-Generation of St Helens Town Centre

We have received the following message from Mike Palin, St Helens Council Chief Executive, about the plans to re-generate St Helens Town Centre: "This week the council and its partners launched an event for town centre businesses to inform them of our plans to transform St Helens Town Centre. The regeneration of the town centre is top of most residents’ wish lists and it is also one of the council’s biggest priorities.  That is why we have developed an ambitious strategy which sets out the direction and vision for the town.  As a council we are currently seeking to take greater control of key assets within the town centre, as we currently own less than one percent of the retail space, meaning we have little or no control over what development occurs. With direct intervention, our intention is to have greater control over the type of retail and leisure facilities that are developed in the town centre over the coming years..."

St Helens Mind Family Fun Day

St Helens Mind are set to hold their first Family Fun Day on Thursday 31st August from 12 until 4pm at the Phyllis Pope Studio at The Mansion House, Victoria Park. Haydock Male Voice Choir - Recruitment Open Evening And Concert

On Tuesday, 5th September at Haydock Conservative Club, St Helens, between 7:30 and 9:30 PM, Haydock Male Voice Choir will present a free concert to attract men to join the choir. They will attain their centenary in March 2023, and would like to reach this milestone by recruiting new "younger" members to perpetuate this august body. Stroke Recovery Service Coordinator

Working closely with the hospital and community multi-disciplinary teams you will provide emotional and practical support to stroke survivors, their families and carers, as well as running communication support sessions for stroke survivors with a communication disability. Reporting to the Regional Management Team, the Stroke Recovery Coordinator will provide support and information to stroke survivors and their families both on the ward and at home. The governments new Digital Strategy offers incentives to promote businesses to take on apprentices and also up skill existing staff to bridge the skills gap in the UK as there is a huge skills shortage.
