Save the Date: NHS St Helens CCG's Annual General Meeting NHS St Helens Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is holding its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 21st September in St Helens Parish Church from 11am until 3.30pm (times may be subject to change). As well as being able to visit a health and wellbeing marketplace, delegates will have an opportunity to hear highlights from the previous year, obtain information about the annual accounts and ask the Governing Body questions... DBS News - A Million Subscribers To Update Service The Disclosure and Barring Service has now had over 1 million subscribers to its Update Service. The Update Service which was launched in June 2013, puts applicants in greater control of their information, and allows you to re-use A DBS certificate when applying for similar roles within the same workforce (i.e Child Workforce / Adult Workforce / Child and Adult Workforce). You now have 30 days from your certificate issue date to register for the Update Service. Registration costs £13 per year (payable by direct debit or credit card only). There is no charge if you are a volunteer... Soul Vessel Collection 2017 - Creative Recycling and Art Passsoul Studio was established as a Community Interest Company in 2013, co-founded and co-directed by Paula – a visual arts and crafts practitioner with an MA in Fine Art, and Piotr - an interior/graphic designer with a BA equivalent in architecture and urbanism. The collaborative practice involves transforming discarded wooden furniture into functional contemporary design objects using traditional techniques including pyrography and dyeing. They make work that is environmentally conscious, addressing the impacts of consumerism and highlighting key ecological concerns... St Helens Young Cares Centre Needs Your Vote To Win £25,000 St Helens Young Carers is a registered independent charity, part of the Adult Carers Centre; it is appealing to all its friends, supporters, the general public and service users to vote online to help them receive £25,000 Community Award from the Freemasons. St Helens Young Carers Centre now supports over 500 Young Carers. It is a registered charity whose objective is to ensure young carers in St Helens are valued, recognised and supported. Each year the Centre needs to fundraise £180,000 to support young carers and rely heavily on local fundraising... Healthwatch Halton - Long Term Conditions Survey Healthwatch Halton have been hearing that people with long-term, complex conditions are often seen by a series of specialists, who each look at and sometimes manage the complication in one part of the body, but rarely is all this information put and discussed together. Healthwatch Halton need your help to get a picture of how people, of all ages, with long-term and/or complex conditions in Halton feel about the services they receive. They have just launched a survey to find out what works well now and what people would like to improve about the management of their condition... Merseyside PCC Releases £45,000 To Help Young People Make The Right Choices Community groups which work to divert young people away from crime and anti-social behaviour are being given the chance to bid for grants for projects running during the autumn half-term, thanks to Merseyside’s Police Commissioner. Jane Kennedy has confirmed that she is once again releasing a round of funding from the Police Property Act Fund (PPA), which allows money raised from the sale of unclaimed stolen goods or property recovered by the police to be used for good causes. It is the eighth time the Commissioner has invited community organisations, charities and groups to apply for a vital cash boost of up to £5,000 grants for grassroots initiatives which are working to help young people to make the right choices. A total of £45,000 is available from the fund for one-off grants for organisations which are committed to improving community safety, reducing crime or supporting victims... Don't Forget...
