Citizens Advice Halton Recruiting For An Office Manager

Charities like Citizens Advice Halton operate in a highly competitive and regulated sector. Their service users are some of the most vulnerable in society and they rely on CAB to provide great customer care and excellent quality advice and support.  To do that they need to ensure they always meet the professional standards as set by; their national umbrella body Citizens Advice, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Money Advice Service, the Advice Quality Standards, etc. In addition they also need to comply with their statutory responsibilities e.g. Health & Safety, Companies House & Charity Commission regulations, Data Assurance compliance, etc.  By ensuring they have the best systems and procedures in place not only will they ensure they provide a great service but it will also help them to develop their charity so that they can best respond to the changing advice needs of the public...


Sports Coach Vacancies

Working an average of 30 hours per week to meet the needs of the service, initially employed on a three year fixed term contract, payable at £16,442/annum. YMCA St Helens will be delivering a programme of sports and physical activity sessions for young people aged 10-18 years. Take Pride in Ageing Conference

The Take Pride in Ageing Conference will be held at Chester Town Hall on Thursday 13th July from 9 30am - 4pm. The conference will celebrate the lives of older LGBT people and explore how service providers can help older LGBT people to live well and enjoy later life. United Way UK Give Local Grants

United Way UK is very happy to announce that “Give Local” grant applications are open for 2017.  “Give Local” grants are inclusive and aim to support community based, local organisations.  They have not been too prescriptive as to the work the grant must contribute towards, as they want communities and organisations to inform them as to their needs as they relate to their priority issue areas (education, income and health); they are particularly interested in those addressing the needs of disadvantaged people...


The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary runs 10:30-12:30 every Wednesday. Out of St Ambrose church. Halton View Road, Widnes. It is a community style cafe, which provides a large range of refreshments and cakes for donation only. It is a safe space for those who feel lonely and isolated, those who have mental health needs, and they are disabled and dementia friendly. They have a MIND worker present each week to offer any mental health support to those who seek it. They also offer support to the recently bereaved and will support them as and when they feel support is needed while giving a great community space where friends can be made should they wish too...


Apex Trust - ACT 4 Women - Co-op Fund

Apex Trust has been successful in being selected as one of many local organisations to benefit from the Co-op members fund. The charity will benefit from sales of carrier bags and other co-op services with a % of what you spend on its products to community projects selected by Co‑op stores near your home. You can choose which cause your own 1% goes to. If you don't, it's shared out between the causes of your nearest Co‑op. The project offers training & support to equip service users with the skills they need to act as volunteer Peer Mentors. Their role is then to support others who are at an earlier stage in their journey towards an end from offending...


People Potential Possibilities

People Potential Possibilities (P3) are seeking a small number of volunteers to support their homeless families project in Runcorn. They need people who can work alongside clients supporting them with their move from P3 properties into their own independent housing. You could be researching local schools, banks and other services or supporting them to find out about leisure activities in their new area. You may be asked to accompany families to appointments to build confidence and self esteem with dealing with agencies. This is a varied volunteer role and if you have a few hours a week to spare and patience and empathy to support someone into independent living they would love to hear from you...

Halton & St Helens VCA, working with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire have compiled a directory and on-line resource for Victims Services in Cheshire in the voluntary and community sector. The directory is for anyone who has been affected by crime in Cheshire, the website will help to find the advice and support needed. This information is provided to anyone who may need support regardless of whether a crime has been reported or when it happened...
