Applications Are Open For The Weston Charity

The Weston Charity Awards celebrate and support excellent charities working in the fields of Youth, Welfare and Community. This year, the awards will support 18 charities across the North East, North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands. Weston Award winners will receive £6,500 unrestricted grant funding alongside business mentoring support from capacity building charity Pilotlight. The purpose of the award is to support ambitious charities personally and financially so you can achieve your goals. Closing date is Friday 13th January....


ERDF Call For The Next Round Of Bids Launched

The next round of calls has now been developed and has been launched on the GOV.UK website. There is a new call under Priority Axis 3 SME Support, (Investment Priority 3c – Business Infrastructure / Gap Funding), in Liverpool City Region. This call is for ERDF funding only (link to call specification). The deadline for the submission of Outline Applications to DCLG for the call is 23:59 on Friday 17th February. Duty To Notify Modern Slavery Materials

From 1 November 2015, specified public authorities have had a duty to notify the Secretary of State of any individual encountered in England and Wales who they believe is a suspected victim of slavery or human trafficking. This duty is intended to gather statistics and help build a more comprehensive picture of the nature and scale of modern slavery. It is estimated that there were 10,000-13,000 victims of modern slavery in the UK in 2013, but only 1,746 potential victims were referred to the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) in the same period. Can Do Merseyside

Can Do Merseyside is part of the registered charity Leonard Cheshire Disability. Can Do is a community based volunteering programme which is person centred and supports young disabled people aged 16-35 in their local community to develop their skills, provide new experiences and promote their independence by participating in a variety of projects and by playing an active role in their community. Can Do delivers taster sessions and one-off activities as well as Building Communities programmes, a longer term project where participants can gain a City & Guilds accreditation.
