Job Vacancy With Changing Lives Changing Lives is moving towards creating Psychologically Informed Environments and embedding Trauma Informed practice across all of the services, a key part of which is supporting staff to improve practice and increase their own wellbeing through developing reflective practice. The role will help people understand what reflective practice means and what the benefits are, and will support practice development by providing regular reflective practice sessions to staff across the organisation to assist them in their work with vulnerable people... LCR ESF Community Grants - Round 2 Now Open Applications to Round 1 of the ESF Community Grants is now closed, with over £600,000 being allocated to 24 local organisations. Round 2 of the fund is now open and eligible organisations will be able to apply for funding until 19 December 2016. Organisations can access the application form via WEA North West... Join Changing Lives Domestic Abuse Service for their White Ribbon Day and International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women Event at Halton & St Helens VCA,Widnes on Thursday, 1st December 2016 from 10am-1pm. There will be lots of activities to enjoy, including T-Shirt designing and painting, face painting for children and crafts. Hair and Beauty students from Riverside College will be offering free hair and beauty sessions for those attending, and refreshments will be provided... Chrysalis Centre Christmas Fayre Everyone is welcome to come along to the Chrysalis Centre's 2016 Christmas Fayre where Chrysalis Centre will have over 20 stalls selling a huge variety of local crafts and Christmas gifts. It is taking place on Saturday 19th November in the Pyramid Lounge of the Chalon Court Hotel which is situated behind The Range. Chalon Court has plenty of free parking or if you are in town you can access the hotel via a footpath between the Range and Tontine Car Park. Entrance fee 50p for Adults,children free. All proceeds will go towards the charitable work of the Chrysalis Centre for Change... Trustees For Charitable Nursing Home St Helens and Knowsley Caring Association (a registered charity) have been caring for people in St Bartholomew’s Nursing Home for older persons since 1988 by working in partnership with local social and healthcare partner agencies. The Board are now looking for new trustees to provide the Charity with good governance, monitoring and strategic direction to ensure the Charity continues to provide its services to the communities it serves long into the future in an evolving care sector... Halton Haven are holding their Christmas Fair on Saturday 26th November, 10am – 4pm at Halton Haven, Runcorn. There will be lots of stalls selling gifts, cakes, homemade decorations and cards. Taking Care of Your Feet - Halton Diabetes UK Group Halton Diabetes UK Group is a support group for people who live in Halton and have diabetes. They are a small ,friendly group of people who have regular meetings which alternate between Widnes and Runcorn where they have guest speakers from the healthcare profession who give lots of information about the various aspects of diabetes in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Guest speakers will be NHS Podiatrists Debbie Hulme and Rhonwen Williams who will be talking about how we can take care of our feet in order to help prevent future problems... St Helens Citizens Advice Bureau Filing Cabinets St Helens Citizens Advice Bureau have nine 4 drawer locking filing cabinets, all with keys, that they would like to rehome to any groups who are in need... Have Your Say On Cheshire Fire And Rescue Service's Draft Plans The consultation on the draft Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) for 2017/18 is now underway and will last until Tuesday 3rd January 2017. During this time the Service will consult with the public, key partners and stakeholders and members of staff. The draft 2017/18 Plan outlines a second review of the emergency response functions to reflect risk and demand up to 2020. This follows on from the first programme of change that the Service began in 2013 and has seen the building of four new fire stations at Alsager, Penketh and Powey Lane near Chester, as well the fire station and safety centre at Lymm... Merseyside Police's Community Engagement Team Paul Ledwith (Merseyside Police’s Community Engagement Team) is looking to develop a Community Advisory Group for the St Helens area and is looking for local people aged 18+ with an interest in not only local issues but across Merseyside from any community or with diverse backgrounds. The groups will be there to feedback community concerns and work with Paul to help support policing in these areas. Sandwich supper provided, bring your own tipple... We’d like you to take part in a major new survey of the voluntary sector in Merseyside and the rest of Northern England. Its purpose is to get a good understanding of the general wellbeing and mood of the sector and to see how it is preparing for the future in a period of significant social and economic change. The survey is being undertaken by the University of Durham, and is funded by IPPR and Garfield Weston Foundation... Cheshire Victim Services Directory Halton & St Helens VCA, working with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire have compiled a directory and on-line resource for Victims Services in Cheshire in the voluntary and community sector. The directory is for anyone who has been affected by crime in Cheshire, the website will help to find the advice and support needed. This information is provided to anyone who may need support regardless of whether a crime has been reported or when it happened...
