Natwest Skills And Opportunities Fund – Round 2 – 2016 Applications Are Now Open

The Natwest Skills & Opportunities Fund is one of the many ways Natwest are contributing to the communities we all live and work in. In 2015, they have committed £2.5m to fund projects in charities, social enterprises, community groups, state-funded schools and colleges across the UK and Ireland, and have allocated a further £2.5m to be split across two rounds in 2016. The focus for this funding is to support organisations that help people in disadvantaged communities develop, create or access the skills and opportunities they need to help themselves; skills that will enable them to get into work or start a business, now or in the future. Willowbrook Hospice is holding a car boot sale to help raise part of the £4m a year it needs to maintain its services. A registered charity, Willowbrook Hospice provides end of life care for adults, their carers and families from St Helens and Knowsley. All the services are provided free of charge with the majority of its funding raised through charitable donations and fundraising events. Police & Crime Commissioner Funding Opportunity - Youth Projects

PCC marks International Youth Day by pledging funding to help young people make the right choices. Merseyside’s Police Commissioner has today marked International Youth Day by once again inviting organisations which work to divert young people away from crime and anti-social behaviour to bid for grants of up to £5,000. Jane Kennedy has today announced that a total fund of £45,000 is available from her Police Property Act Fund (PPA) for grassroots initiatives that will help young people to make the right choices during the autumn half term. It is the seventh round of PPA funding the Commissioner has released for charities and groups who are committed to improving community safety, reducing crime or supporting victims across Merseyside, with the money being raised from the sale of unclaimed stolen goods or property recovered by the police. This latest round of funding has been released for projects which will help to divert young people away from criminal or dangerous behaviour during the October school holidays, particularly over Halloween and Bonfire Night...

Halton & St Helens VCA Is Taking Part In A Major New Survey Of The Voluntary Sector – And We Need Your Help

We’d like you to take part in a major new survey of the voluntary sector in Merseyside and the rest of Northern England.  Its purpose is to get a good understanding of the general wellbeing and mood of the sector and to see how it is preparing for the future in a period of significant social and economic change. The survey is being undertaken by the University of Durham, and is funded by IPPR and Garfield Weston Foundation. The survey only takes 15 minutes to complete and you won't need to check up any facts and figures to do it - hopefully you'll find it quite interesting too.  Whether you are a large or small organisation or group, whether you are thriving, struggling or going along as normal we need you need to complete the survey so that a comprehensive picture can be built on how the voluntary sector is faring in Halton, St Helens and the North West area's more widely...
